HOREHOUND In Hoodoo Folk Magic, Spell-Craft, and Occultism
HOREHOUND is a member of the large Mint family of aromatic herbs. It has long had a medical use in the making of HOREHOUND cough drops, used to palliate a sore, inflamed, or ticklish throat. When utilized magically, it is is said to keep off Wild Animals and Packs of Dogs. Folks who use it thus sprinkle the dried leaves around the perimeter of their property. It may be made into a tea which is added to Floor Wash to protect the home. To use it as a Floor Sweep, sprinkle the dried leaves onto the floor and sweep them out the door. To increase its usefulness, HOREHOUND may be mixed in equal parts with Black Snake Root, which is said to keep off Snakes.
